ABOUT US
Care for Chennai is a foundation started in the early days of the COVID 19 pandemic with the aim of improving the lives of the underprivileged in the community.
The charitable organization was founded by Sitara and Tulasi Anantharamakrishnan, high school students at The American International School Chennai (AISC). As part of their school service clubs and outside school activities, they have been involved with organizations such as Aathmaalayam an old age home, The Hope Foundation, Thalassaemia Welfare Association, Jeevarachanai Children’s Home and Apollo Cancer Centre.
These experiences inspired the two young girls to create their own initiatives through which they could serve the less fortunate. Their overarching goal has been to create projects through which the less fortunate can become independent and improve their sense of self-worth.
Through their innovative ideas and novel schemes towards serving less fortunate in society, they were able to raise funds, which was used towards spearheading the various initiatives under the ‘Care for Chennai’ umbrella.
